william h. johnson's world on paper

harlem renaissance icon william h. johnson's paintings, woodcuts, and prints will be on display at the amon carter museum, 3501 camp bowie blvd in the fort, through april 8th. i usually suck at making it to things like this but intend to make an exception in this case.

I'll definitely be going to this show. Johnson's been one of my favorites since I first saw a show of his years back .... also at the Amon Carter.

His stuff get's copied a lot in the same way Bridgette Riley's does which can push people away or make them think that it is too common which is too bad.
