holy cow! what a righteous-sounding band. i was intrigued by yr wife's snaps so i checked out their myspace thang and i was just floored by the sound. what a total freakout. slayed, i am...
i really try and shy away from the whole "they sound like/remind me of so and so" vibe, but what i will say is that i can hear in their music the same things i love about bands like tomahawk, scratch acid, the jesus lizard, EARLY dicks (before they relocated to san fran and starting sounding like what stone temple pilots [vomit!] eventually would,) and even a little of the non electronic elements of my beloved six finger satellite.
maybe there's a loosely defined "texas sound" that i'm thinking of when i ponder bands in this vein? dunno. whatever it is, i dig it very much and am mucho excited about these gideon folks. that says a lot cause i've (sadly) been quite bored with music these days.
wish me had more bands like this in my town.
