wreck room virtual drive-by

for those of you not fortunate enough to live in fort worth, here's an exterior view of the illustrious wreck room, my favorite rockaroll dump on earth, courtesy of amazon's new online yellow pages thingy. scroll yr mouse over the li'l pics below the bigun for some "virtual drive-by" action.

yeah, 'tis. also note the neon electric gtr on the other side of the ain't-been-changed-in-months marquee. the brown storefront to the left of the wreck proper is "wreck west," where we play on wednesday nights when wizard o' sound andre is outta town (as he is now). on such nights, we setp up w/our backs to the window on the left.

nice. always good to get a visualization to put next to the mind pic i've drawn up in my head for the puposes of comparison (i was listening to one of yr. jam discs this morn and imagined what the joint looked like as the tunes wailed.)looks pretty much like i expected it. the barber shop next door looks pretty swell too.

when a tornado hit the fort back in y2k (first one within the city limits in the 150 yrs the town's been in existence), the 7th street barbershop was knocked over and the wreck's windows blown out. the barflys had to rescue the barber from the remains of his place!
